Ingredients
- 1 kilo block Halloumi – cut into approximately 2cm cubes
- 300g Plain Flour – season with some black pepper
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 300g Panko breadcrumbs
- Corn oil for frying
Method
In batches, dredge cubes of halloumi into the flour, followed by the beaten eggs and then into the panko breadcrumbs and place on a baking tray till all the halloumi cubes are coated.
In a large frying pan pour in 2 inches of corn oil and heat. Once the oil has heated place one cube of halloumi in and see if the oil is hot enough. If it is, in batches carefully add the cubes of halloumi and fry until they are golden brown in colour.
Using a slotted spoon take the nuggets out of the oil and place on a plate covered in kitchen paper, to soak up any excess oil.
Then transfer all the halloumi nuggets onto a platter and serve immediately.
The halloumi nuggets are best served warm.
